No home is perfect. Home inspections reveal both minor and major issues with a home. After a buyer and their Realtor receive the inspection report, they will discuss which issues are worth negotiating with the seller and decide if the seller will complete the repairs prior to closing or if the buyer will receive a monetary credit as compensation.
Keep in mind, the seller may also be unaware that their home had issues.
Sellers are not obligated to negotiate a buyer’s requests, so keep your repair list to a minimum and tackle the most important issues. With that approach, you will find most sellers are quite willing to negotiate and reach a deal that is agreeable to both parties.
